WRIGHTSVILLE BEACH, NC (WECT) - A new store in Wrightsville Beach is celebrating the community's surf culture.

At the recently-opened Annex on Causeway Drive, surfers can find trendy clothes, local art, coffee and conversation.

That was apparent on Friday afternoon, when Sean Ruttkay, the man behind EDA Surf, put on a live exhibition to showcase not only his talent, but the unique atmosphere found at Annex.

"I think that its important in a cultural hub like this in Wrightsville Beach that people can come together and unite under creativity," Ruttkay said as he worked on his mixed media piece.

Owners hope to bring the creative minds together and let them blossom in a place where people feel comfortable.

There are already several other art shows scheduled to take place in the coming weeks. You can find out more by following WECT's Wrightsville Beach Community News.

Annex also hopes to give back. Saturday at 4 p.m., it's hosting a fundraiser for DREAMS, a local charity that aims to get children involved in the arts.
