CARROLLTON, GA (WALB) -

The Valdosta State Blazers earned their second GSC Conference Tournament Championship in the last four years in dramatic fashion.

A two RBI single in the bottom of the 9th by Hunter Thompson pushed the Blazers past Delta State 5-4 Thursday.

The win gives the Blazers the GSC Automatic Bid in the 2013 NCAA Tournament.

Jamie McMillan and Jake Montgomery each singled with one out in the 9th to start the rally.

McMillan was replaced on the basepaths by pinch runner Will Austin, who used his speed to beat the throw to third on a Ryan McClellan sacrifice bunt.

With the bases loaded, Nick Rodda was hit by a pitch to bring home Austin.

Then, it became Thompson Time.

Thompson laced the first pitch of the at-bat into right center.

Montgomery jogged home to tie the game, then McClellan slid under the tag at home to win.

VSU's Benjamin Weil, Thompson, Bryant Hayman, and Jake Fields were all named to the All-Tournament team.
