SANDUSKY, OH (Toledo News Now) -

Cedar Point opens for the summer this weekend and fans cannot wait to test the park's newest ride: GateKeeper.

You can hear the screams as soon as you enter the park, just what the staff planned. Lines are long full of roller coaster enthusiasts from around the world, but people agree the wait has been worth it. Some have even gone for a ride 21 times!

What makes the GateKeeper unique is you travel on the wing of the coaster outside the track through all the twists and turns. According to the architect, it moves 67 mph and has a 165-foot drop.

For a bonus, Cedar Point opened Millennium Force and Raptor for the special guests Thursday.

Tune in for more details on the park's latest addition, including more point-of-view videos, in Jon Monk's reports tonight on WTOL 11 News starting at 5.
