It's that time of year again when we are encouraged to honor mothers. That's really something we should be doing every day, but especially this week.
What comes to mind for you when you think about your mother or mothers you know? I have an overwhelming sense of gratitude.
I know it may surprise you, but I was an ornery little cuss. I gave my mom fits. But in spite of that, my mother loved me unconditionally. She did so much for me and taught me things that benefit me to this day. There is no way I could ever repay her.
Being a mother is tough work, no question. And even with all the modern conveniences, it hasn't gotten any easier. We guys probably underestimate that.
There are a lot of sacrifices along the way. For every mother there are times of conflict, frustration, exhaustion and sorrow. But hopefully there are ample amounts of love, joy and celebration to go along with those tough times.
To all mothers everywhere, I honor you for what you do and wish you a very happy Mother's Day.
That's my turn. Now it's your turn…to love and honor your mother. To comment on this segment, or anything else, email me at firstname.lastname@example.org
