A 3-year-old barefoot boy was found wandering alone on hot pavement Friday by residents of a Peoria mobile home park.
Peoria fire crews determined the boy's feet were not burned when rescue crews arrived near Peoria and 79th Avenue.
Police and firefighters then went door-to-door in an attempt to locate the boy's parents to no avail. No one seemed to know the youngster or where he lived, police said.
The child was then placed in the custody of Child Protective Services.
About six hours after the child was found, his father called police to report him missing.
Detectives filed charges against the boy's father for endangerment and neglect. The father's name was not released.
The child remains in CPS custody.
