SHALLOTTE, NC (WECT) - Scott Frazier will be the next varsity football coach at West Brunswick high school.
Frazier was recommended by Principal Brock Ahrens according to a release from the school.
"I feel that coach Frazier will be an instant fit into our athletic program and into our faculty. We are excited to have him join us." Ahrens said.
Frazier brings a wealth of football experience to the Trojans. He's been on college staffs at North Carolina, Western Carolina, Presbyterian and Elon and was the head coach at Walter Williams high school in Burlington from 2008-10.
"I think Scott is going to be a great fit for our school and our community." said athletic director and former football coach Jimmy Fletcher. "His high school background will allow him to hit the ground running and his college connections will help our kids in getting to the next level."
Fletcher stepped down as head coach when he took over as AD in February. In his final season the Trojans finished with a 5-6 overall record, all five of those wins came in Waccamaw conference play.
West Brunswick will make the move to the split Mideastern 3A/4A conference beginning in the 2013 season.
