PENDER COUNTY, NC (WECT) - A second-degree murder plea is expected Wednesday from Lance Christopher Powers. The driver, Powers' girlfriend, Jennie Moore was killed. Also, the driver and children in the car were seriously injured.
Two other men also pleaded guilty to murder this week in Pender County.
Michael Grant is pleaded guilty to killing his neighbor, Anthony Edens Sr, while impaired on bath salts in Rocky Point in August 2011. Neighbors living in the Summit Ridge subdivision told stories the day after the incident about hearing multiple gunshots the night before. Shannon McHone, living across the street from the Grants even said Grant's ex-wife and her two kids, who were living with Grant at the time, busted through McHone's back sliding glass door for a safe escape.
James Gorby also pleaded guilty to murder in Pender County this week. He pleaded guilty to shooting his stepfather, Roger Mock, twice at Mock's home in Hampstead in September 2011.
Both defendants Grant and Gorby have previous felony convictions.
