WEATHER: Mostly cloudy and mild this weekend, slight chance of shower

WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) – Partly cloudy to mostly cloudy skies are expected today. We could see a sprinkle, at best, mainly inland; however, the rest of us will remain dry. Temperatures will climb into the low 70s across the area despite the clouds.

Mostly cloudy skies are expected tonight as well, which will allow temperatures in some areas to stay above average. Temperatures will fall into the low to mid 50s by Sunday morning.

Sunday will be very similar to Saturday as far as temperatures are concerned. Expect mostly cloudy skies with a slight chance (20%) for an isolated shower. Temperatures, again, will climb into the low 70s.

Monday will bring cooler temperatures and a better chance of rain to start the work week. A pretty unsettled weather pattern increases rain chances for much of next week.

A seasonably warm and humid summer air mass will govern the Cape Fear Region into the weekend. The approach of front and moisture and a glance from the remnants of Tropical Storm Cindy will boost rain chances at times. A dose of marginally cooler air with lower rain chances is possible by the middle of next week.
