BLADEN COUNTY, NC (WECT) - A man from Bladenboro is back in North Carolina to face charges relating to the theft of cable.

Sheriff's deputies say Darryl Dewitt McMaster, 48, was extradited this past Saturday from Virginia.  He faces 92 charges in all, with counts for identity theft and obtaining property by false pretenses.

Investigators say McMaster found people who wanted to buy cable and would use their names to get the service turned on. When those folks got a monthly bill, they would throw it away.

Officials from the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, Office of Inspector General Criminal Division helped out, because the names being used were connected to the military. Authorities say it took a few months for Time Warner Cable to catch on.

McMaster faces similar charges in Virginia, according to authorities.

McMaster is in the Bladen County Jail on a $92,000 bond.
