WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) - Phase one of Alderman Park is officially open. Members of the community gathered Friday afternoon for the sign dedication ceremony at the Stanley Rehder Carnivorous Plant Garden inside the park.
Money to pay for the park's development comes from a voter-approved parks and open space bond. The park is partnered with the City of Wilmington and now being preserved for the community to enjoy.
The park features a pervious concrete walking trail, observation decks, and a collection of native carnivorous plants such as Pitcher Plants and Venus Flytraps.
