WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) - A Wilmington man was sentenced to 10 years in prison Thursday after pleading guilty to heroin distribution.
Carnell Randall White, 24, pleaded guilty to possession with the intent to distribute and distribution of 100 grams or more of heroin, according to a news release from the U. S. Department of Justice.
During the course of the investigation, the WPD made three undercover purchases of heroin from White between Sept. 2011 and Feb. 2012.
In addition, officials say on March 26, 2012, the WPD stopped a rental car, which was returning from New Jersey heading to Wilmington. Kathy Mishoe was driving the vehicle and Linwood Nelson was a passenger. Detectives found 7,500 bags of heroin which were to be delivered to White and Kenneth Harris for distribution.
The group imported more than 16,500 bags of heroin from New Jersey between Nov. 2011 and Feb. 2012, according to the news release.
