GLENDALE, AZ (CBS5) -

A warrant was served Tuesday afternoon on Pronto Mart, near 59th Avenue and Missouri Avenue in Phoenix, after the Glendale Police Department received a tip that the store could be manufacturing and potentially selling the illegal drug Spice.

Glendale's Police Department's Special Investigations Unit detectives received a tip from Arizona Tax Revenue officers after they did a routine inspection on the Pronto Mart. The revenue inspectors told Glendale SIU detectives they saw evidence of the illegal spice drug in the back two rooms of the business.

When SIU served the search warrant at Pronto Mart they seized nearly 6,000 vials believed to contain the illegal drug spice. In addition raw containers weighing close to 250 pounds of raw materials that had been sprayed with A.K.B, an illegal active ingredient that produces the high when the substance is smoked, were also seized by SIU.

The store manager, Abrahim Sayegh, 39, told SIU detectives that he had purchased the herb from California and the A.K.B. came from a supplier in China over the last six months.

Sayegh also admitted that he was selling the spice online in addition to other stores in the area, according to SIU detectives.

Sayegh will have felony charges submitted against him for the Possession of Dangerous Drugs for Sale and Manufacturing Dangerous Drugs since he is believed to have been selling and manufacturing the illegal drug.

According to the new House Bill 2327 that took effect on April 3, 2013 the selling of any synthetic drug used to mimic THC or methamphetamine is illegal.
