WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) - Students on the campus of UNCW united for a prayer vigil to honor the victims of the Boston Marathon and commemorate the six-year anniversary of the Virginia Tech massacre.
Nearly 300 students joined together for the vigil.
They lit candles, prayed and sang.
Students who were holding candles formed the word, Boston, for pictures that will be sent to hospitals where victims from the bombing are recovering.
The students also formed the letters V.T. to honor the victims of Virginia Tech.
Some who attended the ceremony said they felt like they had to do something, in some small way, to show their support for victims of these tragedies.
