WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) - A building at Cape Fear Community College Building now bares the name of one of the school's biggest supporters.
Tuesday, the college held an official dedicate ceremony to name the former Hanover Art Gallery. The building will now be called the Wilma W. Daniels Art Gallery, named for a long-time supporter of the school and is a member of the CFCC Foundation Board.
"Ms. Daniels is one of our most dedicated supporters. Her generosity has played a positive role in the lives of so many of our students. It's fitting that the art gallery bear her name," said CFCC President Dr. Ted D. Spring.
Daniels spoke at the dedication ceremony and said she was honored.
"It is just such a joy," she said. "It's a good school and the reason why I love it so much is because once the students get their education and they're trained, they stay right here in Wilmington and they're able to give back."
The gallery hosts artists' work from local artists and displays art from students and faculty.
