LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - The Kentucky Derby Festival is asking for the public's help convincing the University of Louisville men's and women's basketball teams to be grand marshals of this year's Pegasus Parade.

KDF has launched a social media campaign inviting the teams to participate in the parade. Festival organizers are asking fans to share and retweet their posts on KDF's Facebook (www.facebook.com/DerbyFest) and Twitter (www.twitter.com/kyderbyfestival) pages.

This year's Republic Bank Pegasus Parade is themed "Now, That's Entertainment!" and will march down Broadway on Thursday, May 2. Tickets are still available and can be purchased by calling 502-584-FEST. The parade will air live at 5:30 p.m. on WAVE 3, its exclusive home since 1982.

University of Kentucky men's basketball coach John Calipari and his coaching staff, which led the Wildcats to their eighth NCAA championship in April 2012, served as honorary grand marshals of last year's Pegasus Parade.
