BLADEN COUNTY, NC (WECT) – A high school student has been killed in an accident in Bladen County, according to The Fayetteville Observer.

The article says Cole Humphrey, 17, was pronounced dead on the scene. He played football at Cape Fear High School.

The accident happened Friday around 4:03 p.m. on N.C. 53 in Elizabethtown.

According to the article, he ran off the road, hit a ditch and struck a telephone pole, which caused the car to overturn.

Two other students were hurt in the crash, including Spencer Faircloth, 18, and Branson Hayes, 17.
