WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) – Crews with Under the Dome were expect to continue filming in the Wilmington area Friday night, but those shoots were postponed due to rain.
Now, crews will film in the area Tuesday, April 9.
Don't be alarmed if you hear gunfire near Halyburton Park Tuesday, it's probably fake gunfire for the show. According to film permits, crews are expected to film near the park Friday, 10 a.m. – 9 p.m.
Production members are filming a scene involving a man on the run in the woods and special effects include prop guns and fake gunfire.
According to film permits, crews will also be filming in Greenfield Lake Park Tuesday night starting at 6:00. They aren't expected to wrap the shoot until 2:00 Wednesday morning.
The skate park will be closed during those hours because kids will be riding skates around the park and the "dome" during the shoot. There will also be a bonfire.
The locally-filmed mini-series is based on a Stephen King novel with the same title.
Under the Dome is about a fictitious town called Chester's Mill that finds itself surrounded by a mysterious barrier that won't allow people to travel outside of it.
The series will air on CBS in June.
