Showers will continue to fall through the end of our morning commute here in eastern North Carolina. As temperatures struggle to make it into the upper 50s as unseasonably cool air collides with Gulf of Mexico moisture across the region.
The showers will continue to increase in coverage and intensity as we move into the afternoon and evening hours as a low pressure center advances up the Carolina coastline.
Highs today will climb to about 59F degrees, but if the before mentioned low tacks a bit further inland, there is a chance we could see temperatures climb higher still.
Locations along the immediate coast have the biggest chance to see the biggest rain totals. Current model runs estimate over an inch between today and Friday afternoon. That's when conditions are expected to clear – and warm -as we head into the weekend.
