Thrill of the Grill Contest finalist #1

  • 1 cup of soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup of red vinegar
  • 2 tbls cooking oil
  • Fresh chopped garlic
  • Grated fresh ginger
  • Pepper
  • Salt (if desired, soy sauce may be salty enough for taste)
  • 1 whole, cut-up chicken, no skin.


Put marinate and chicken in a re sealable plastic bag for a minimum of 30 minutes (2 hours suggested). Cook on grill until desired time.

Side dish options

You can use the same marinate recipe for zucchini and squash, just slice it up, marinate it and grill.

You may also like adding a sun dried tomato base to it and pour over sliced, fresh tomatoes, then add fresh basil and server with grilled chicken and vegetables.
