Darton unable to make it 16 in a row

CARROLLTON, GA (WALB) -

The Darton State Cavaliers are currently on a streak. A one game losing streak to be exact.

The 16th ranked Cavs were unable to make it 16 wins in a row Wednesday, falling to West Georgia Tech, 4-3, in Carrollton.

The teams exchanged runs in the 3rd before Darton broke the tie with two in the 5th.

That was all they'd get though.

The Golden Knights scored a run in each of the final three frames, including Matthew Banks' RBI in the 9th that gave WGTC the win.

It was Darton's first region loss this year, and the first loss since February 9.

Darton is now 21-5 on the year, and 8-1 in the GJCAA.

The Cavaliers have a chance at revenge this weekend when the Golden Knights come to Albany for a three-game series.

The two teams will play a double header Friday beginning at 3:30. Game 3 is Saturday at 1 p.m.
