While the $35 million expansion project for the Student Recreation Center at UNCW is finally nearing completion, school officials still don't have an exact date for fully reopening.WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) – While the $35 million expansion project for the Student Recreation Center at UNCW is finally nearing completion, school officials still don't have an exact date for fully reopening.
According to UNCW, work is almost finished but they are waiting for inspections and state approval. Staff members have plans in place to open as soon as possible once the state accepts the facility.
The existing center is open for students as well as two lanes of the running track.
Students can also continue using Gold's Gym through March 31. After that, students will be offered a discount at the gym through the end of the semester.
