WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) - UNCW associate head coach Jamie Kachmarik and assistant coach Dante Calabria will not return for the 2013-14 season.

Head coach Buzz Peterson informed both of the decision Monday morning. Andre Gray, Peterson's lead recruiter, remains on staff.

"I appreciate everything Jamie and Dante have done for our program." Peterson said. "Am I happy with where our program has been the past three years, no I'm not, it's time to get some wins and I need to change the culture a little bit."

Peterson hopes to have the positions filled before the Final Four with the director of basketball operations opening completed before the start of the season.

Kachmarik came to UNCW with Peterson when he was hired in April 2010. Calabria made the move to the bench leading up to the 2011-12 season after serving as director of basketball operations, a position that remains unfilled.

"I'd be very interested in someone who's had head coaching experience, someone who's been on the hot seat that can give me some advice but the bottom line is you're only as good as your players so we need people who are connected and who can bring us some quality players."

Since his hire Peterson has had five assistants leave the program.
