
WILMINGTON,NC (WECT)- African American filmmakers, producers and directors will be recognized and honored for their work as the 12th annual North Carolina Black Film Festival kicks off Thursday night.
The festival will run through March 17 and will show more than 20 films. Screenings are to be held at the Cameron Art Museum, Hannah Block Community Arts Center and at the Warwick Center at UNCW.
The festival will include feature films, shorts, documentaries, animations and music videos.
There will also be a 'CineMixer' to start things off. It's a free opening reception Thursday night at the Cameron Art Museum.
The mixer will begin at 6 p.m. and the opening film, 24- Hour Love, begins at 7 p.m.
