COLUMBUS COUNTY, NC (WECT) – Two men are facing drug and gun charges after a bust in Tabor City.

Jonathan Elgin Long, 24, was charged with three counts of trafficking opium, possession with intent to sell or deliver marijuana, maintaining a dwelling to keep a controlled substance, possession of a stolen firearm, and possession of drug paraphernalia, a spokesperson for the Columbus County Sheriff's Office confirmed.

Ronald Holmes Stewart, III, 22, was charged with possession a of stolen firearm and possession of a schedule II controlled substance.

The Columbus County Sheriff's Office Vice Narcotics Unit executed a search warrant Wednesday at Elgin's home, in the 350 block of Shug Norris Road.

The warrant came following undercover buys, and upon arriving at the home, authorities discovered 82 tabets of Hydrocodone, 127 tablets of Oxycodone, 130 grams of marijuana, two set of digital scales, plastic bags, and nine firearms.

One of the firearms, which was found to be in Stewart's possession, was a handgun that was stolen from the Georgetown Police Department. Both suspects claim that Long had given Stewart the weapon the night before for protection.

Stewart was also in possession of an Oxycodone tablet.

Long and Stewart remain in jail.

Long's bond has been set at $50,500, while Stewart's is $6,000.
