WILLARD, NC - (WECT) - One man in Willard is worried about the safety of his road and asking for something to be done.
Ralph Smith has lived on Watha Road, in Willard, for over a decade. He says many people drive down the narrow, curvy road too fast. He claims some people even hold races and says there should be more law enforcement on the road to stop the dangerous practices.
On Sunday, a car flipped over, at the road's intersection with Fern Lane. Smith says, if something isn't done, more accidents will occur.
"We've got elderly people that walk, we have children that cross the road," explained Smith. "Somebody is going to end up getting killed on this road."
Smith says he has asked authorities to provide more safety enforcement on the road, but so far he says he hasn't seen any action.
According to Highway Patrol, there were eight car crashes on the road in 2012, two of which resulted in injuries.
