BRUNSWICK COUNTY, NC (WECT) – Drivers will have to wait a few more months before they see some changes to what many call a "dangerous" curve.

The curve along Highway 133 is known as Orton Curve because it sits just a few yards away from the former Orton Plantation in Brunswick County.

A number of accidents have happened along this curve over the past year and that's why DOT officials are looking to make some changes.

The DOT was aiming to have a project set in place by March, but according to officials, their deadline has been pushed to June.

Officials tell WECT.com some of the estimates are taking longer than expected.

They say they are looking at removing the trees along the curve. They will have a better idea of which options they will go with by summer.
