WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) – A young woman was killed late Sunday night after an accident at the intersection of Third and Wooster Streets in Wilmington.
According to police, 20-year-old Shelby Lynn Hughes ran a red light on Third Street and was hit by a vehicle on Wooster Street.
Hughes was taken to the hospital, where she later died.
Two people from the other vehicle were also taken to the hospital and are expected to be okay.
Police say the traffic investigation is ongoing at this time.
