Dogs enjoy new parkOAK ISLAND, NC (WECT) - The Salty Dog Park opened its gates to some eager pooches Saturday morning in Oak Island.
After the "leash cutting" ceremony, the pups enjoyed their first run in the new park.
The Salty Dog Park is one of the only dog parks in the area.
Many are relieved to finally have a place to let their dogs run free.
Oak Island says that there are nearly 600 registered dogs just in the city.
The park is located at Bill Smith Park on Fish Factory Road.
