NAVASSA (WECT) – The town of Navassa celebrated the recent grant approval for a new playground at Phoenix Park. Dozens of locals came out Saturday, thrilled with the future plans for their town.
Kids in attendance had the chance to pick out the features that will be included in their playground. They did so by voting on each feature they wanted.
The Eat Smart, Move More organization provided everyone in attendance a free lunch and healthy alternative food to take home.
Children and adults had the opportunity to visit a health fair for screenings and other resources.
Mayor Eulis Willis was also in attendance.
