WHITEVILLE, NC (WECT) – Authorities are investigating a break-in at a gas station at the Whiteville Walmart.
According to Whiteville Police, someone broke into the Murphy gas station Friday around 4 a.m. The suspect entered through a window, which he or she managed not to break, and proceeded to load a trashcan with about 150 cigarette cartons, valued at around $7,000.
Because the glass didn't break, an alarm wasn't triggered, allowing the suspect to get away.
Detectives say the suspect was dressed in all white and was wearing a white mask.
