WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) – The downtown Wilmington stormwater project along Walnut Street wrapped up early.
According to a spokesperson for the city, the intersection of Walnut and Front Streets reopened this week, a month ahead of schedule.
The project began in January and involved replacing underground drainage systems to protect Front Street from cave-ins that can happened during heavy rains.
A press release said crosswalks will be added in the area early next week.
