WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) – The bright and sunny conditions are going to bring progressively warmer temperatures to the area as we go into the weekend and early next week. Look for high temperatures today to struggle into the mid 50s off of lows near freezing. Light to moderate breezes will make it a bit chilly, but as we head into the evening winds will relax. This will set us up for another chilly morning on Saturday, but that's where we turn the corner.
Temps on Saturday, while slightly cooler than normal, will move into the upper 50s and low 60s. Sunday we will jump up another five or six degrees into the mid 60s and on Monday we will get very close to 70F.
Tuesday another spring storm works its way up out of the Gulf of Mexico, bringing a warm rain during the morning, with a slight chance for thunderstorms.
Wednesday we will again see slightly cooler than normal and sunny conditions.
