
State leaders host discussion on regulationsWILMINGTON, NC (WECT) – State leaders want to review business regulations to make changes that would create a friendly environment for business.
Thursday, they hosted a town hall meeting to talk about possible changes.
Local government officials from Wilmington, Wrightsville Beach, Carolina Beach and other municipalities attended the session.
Local representatives, Rick Catlin from New Hanover County and Chris Millis from Pender County, helped lead the discussion.
They wanted to hear from business leaders to find out which rules are too harsh and what changes would help.
State leaders are considering a bill that would require lawmakers to review more than 22,000 rules on the books over the next few years.
The goal is get rid of anything that doesn't work or is redundant.
