It's a rock opera with music from the iconic band The Who, based on a double album from 1969.
The title character Tommy witnesses the accidental murder of his mother's lover by his father and is traumatized. He becomes, in essence, deaf, blind and dumb.
As he grows up, he is subjected to further abuse until he discovers an uncanny knack for playing pinball and becomes a superstar.
The show includes the mainstream hit Pinball Wizard, which The Who released as a single from the Tommy album.
