PENDER COUNTY, NC - (WECT) - Some students in Pender County will see some major changes next year. The school board approved the redistricting plan, during their last meeting.
Starting next year, Cape Fear Elementary School and Rocky Point Primary School will hold kindergarten through fifth grade.
Currently, kindergartners through second graders attend Rocky Point Primary School and third through fifth graders attend Cape Fear Elementary School.
As part of the plan, about 100 students in the area will start attending Burgaw Elementary School.
Leaders say the plan was created because of overcrowding issues.
