NEW HANOVER COUNTY, NC (WECT) - For Dick Roush, an innocent moment of watching TV inside his Beau Rivage home outside of Wilmington can quickly change to something disturbing.
"I'm seeing disgusting behavior and we don't like it," said Roush.
Roush said whenever nature calls many golfers who use the course behind his house don't hesitate about using the bathroom in public.
"Oh, it's year round. It happens, I'd say on the average once a day," explained Roush. "Mostly right up there at the 8th tee. They park their cart and some of them don't even bother going in the woods. They just get out the cart you know."
Roush said the men always turn their backs and have never exposed themselves to him, but it's starting to happen closer to his house.
According to Roush, someone urinated five feet from his house earlier this week.
"He gets out of the cart and stands like this you know and he zips down. I yelled at him. I said 'Hey stop that! Public urination is against the law,'" explained Roush.
Roush said he called authorities, but when the man was gone by the time they showed up.
"Even if you take a photograph, they would still have to identify who that was and they don't have time to go around investigating public urination identification issues," said Roush.
Roush said he's reached out the neighborhood's homeowners association about the issue and was told it's out of their hands. Now, he's just trying to figure out who can help him.
"It's grossly inconsiderate," said Roush. "They think they're the only ones who live on this planet and I don't like people like that."
The President of Beau Rivage's homeowner's association says they only deal with homeowner issues. The superintendent of the golf course says they are monitoring it.
