
COLUMBUS COUNTY, NC (WECT) – Several law enforcement agencies in Columbus County worked together to protect the people who live in that area.
According to Fair Bluff Police Chief J.H. Hewett, the agencies worked together at the beginning of the month in a joint operation aimed to get narcotics and weapons off the street and out of the hands of children.
During the operation, several arrests were made, narcotics and drunk drivers were taken off the roads, and an illegal alcohol establishment was closed down.
According to the Fair Bluff Police Department the following were arrested and charged:
Tyrone Grave of Fair Bluff
James Hemingway of Fair Bluff
Brandon Lennon of Chadbourn
Ned Tate of Fair Bluff
Gilbert McMillion of Fair Bluff
Vanessa McMillion of Fair Bluff
Larry Wayne Evans of Chadbourn
Devonte Taquan Flowers of Chadbourn
Robert Allen Bellamy of Chadbourn
Waylon Montgomery of Chadbourn
Members of the Fair bluff Police Department, Chadbourn Police Department, Columbus County Sheriff's Office Traffic Unit, Whiteville Police Department Narcotics Unit, and NC Alcohol Law Enforcement were a part of this operation.
