COLUMBUS COUNTY, NC (WECT) – Several law enforcement agencies in Columbus County worked together to protect the people who live in that area.
According to Fair Bluff Police Chief J.H. Hewett, the agencies worked together at the beginning of the month in a joint operation aimed to get narcotics and weapons off the street and out of the hands of children.
During the operation, several arrests were made, narcotics and drunk drivers were taken off the roads, and an illegal alcohol establishment was closed down.
According to the Fair Bluff Police Department the following were arrested and charged:
Tyrone Grave of Fair Bluff
- Order for Arrest for Harnett County Breaking and Entering
- Order for Arrest for Harnett County Possession of Stolen Vehicle
James Hemingway of Fair Bluff
- Warrant for Arrest Communicating threats
Brandon Lennon of Chadbourn
- Order for Arrest Possession of a concealed weapon
- Resist, Delay, Obstruct for Providing Fictitious Information
- Resist, Delay, Obstruct for Fleeing From Custody (Apprehended with assistance from Chadbourn K9 on Academy St.)
- Open Container of Alcohol in passenger area of motor vehicle
Ned Tate of Fair Bluff
- DWI
- Speeding (Wrecked speeding in excess of 80mph/Gapway Rd.)
Gilbert McMillion of Fair Bluff
- Misdemeanor possession of Marijuana
- Drug Paraphernalia
Vanessa McMillion of Fair Bluff
- Misdemeanor possession of Marijuana
- Drug Paraphernalia
Larry Wayne Evans of Chadbourn
- Felony Possession of Schedule II (Crack Cocaine)
Devonte Taquan Flowers of Chadbourn
- Order For Arrest for 2nd Degree Trespassing
Robert Allen Bellamy of Chadbourn
- Sell Alcoholic Beverages without first obtaining the applicable ABC permit and revenue licenses
- Possess for Sell Alcoholic Beverages without first obtaining the applicable ABC permit and revenue licenses
Waylon Montgomery of Chadbourn
- Possess Drug Paraphernalia
Members of the Fair bluff Police Department, Chadbourn Police Department, Columbus County Sheriff's Office Traffic Unit, Whiteville Police Department Narcotics Unit, and NC Alcohol Law Enforcement were a part of this operation.
