Police tape and a hat lying on the ground are sad reminders of a triple shooting that happened outside the Zulu Motorcycle Club on Saturday, March 2nd.
19 Action News Reporter, Dawn Kendrick spoke to a woman who lives right next door about her take on the recent shootings.
Linda Welch says she feels like she's living in a war zone.
"I'm terrified - really. I've got grandchildren. It's time to stop this!" cries Welch.
Police say three people were shot at the club overnight - two of them women. One man was shot in the foot. Welch heard the shots.
"I heard Boom! Boom! Big shots. Right there, his hat's still laying on the ground!" said Welch.
This is the second shooting at the Zulu's club in just two weeks. The first shooting ended in murder.
Robert Harris died after being shot in the chest and abdomen.
We were told the Zulu's were gathered at their club today for a funeral.
One member of the Zulu's said it's the neighborhood that's the problem not them , but Welch says she's had bullets flying through her windows all compliments of the club.
Police arrived at E. 71st & Bliss Avenue around 4:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 2, 2013 to find a dark green Chevrolet Tahoe with two female victims inside, one was shot in the torso and the other had gun powder burns and a possible graze wound to the right arm.
While on scene, the officers were informed that the two victims were seated in the above SUV and that one of the women was arguing with the father of her child.
During the argument the male produced a handgun and fired several shots into the SUV.
After firing into the SUV the male fled the scene.
During the investigation, police received a call from University Hospital for a male with a gunshot wound to the foot.
While speaking with the male victim, he told officers he was walking away from the aforementioned SUV when an unknown male standing next to the vehicle fired several shots, hitting him in the foot. He continued on to say that after being shot he was driven to University Hospital a friend.
After further investigation and a search of the vehicle that the male victim and his friend were operating, a glock pistol was recovered. Both men were arrested and are awaiting charges.
