WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) – Melissa McCarthy, known for her comedic roles on Mike and Molly, Identity Thief and Bridesmaids, is bringing her next project to the Port City, sources say.
The movie, Tammy, is in pre-production and McCarthy is producing, writing and starring in the big-budget feature film.
According to IMDB.com, the movie follows a woman who after losing her job and learning that her husband has been unfaithful, hits the road with her profane, hard-drinking grandmother.
Kathy Bates and John Goodman are also rumored to be part of the cast.
Filming is expected to begin in May.
