WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) – An upper level trough is filtering in Canadian air across Southeastern North Carolina.
Temperatures will only climb into the low 50s today. In addition, clouds will increase throughout the day as well. We are expecting a slight chance of rain this afternoon and evening, but showers will be scattered in nature. Rainfall totals will be less than a tenth of an inch.
Clouds will decrease tonight and temperatures will plummet near the freezing mark, so be prepared for a frigid Sunday morning.
Mostly sunny skies are expected Sunday as the moisture moves offshore. Temperatures will be slightly cooler as well. Highs will climb near 50 as northwesterly winds continue to dominate.
Temperatures will rebound closer to normal Tuesday with highs in the low 60s.
Our next best chance of rain will move in Wednesday.
