WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) – Conditions will continue to cool here for the next couple of days as Canadian air is redirected into southeastern North Carolina just in time to cool things off this weekend. Whether you are heading downtown to the ‘Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure' Saturday morning or to Beer Fest on Saturday afternoon you probably will want to throw in the jacket.
High temperatures will struggle into the low 50s on Saturday with overnight lows dropping into the mid to low 30s for both weekend mornings. By now, you have probably heard me make mention of snowflakes late Saturday. Don't get your sled out. First the overall precipitation chances is minimal – then what ever falls from the sky needs to do it during the late evening hours Saturday in order for temperatures to be cold enough to develop snowflakes. Ground temperatures will remain too warm for any accumulation.
Conditions warm on through Wednesday, with highs in the mid 50s, sill below normal. Showers look likely by the middle of the next week.
