
Eric Christopher Bennett, 26 of Elizabethtown, was arrested after he fired shots at a moving vehicle. (Source: Bladen Co. Police Dept.)BLADEN COUNTY, NC (WECT) – A man was arrested in Elizabethtown Wednesday night and charged with felony attempted first degree murder.
According to the police department, Eric Christopher Bennett, 26 of Elizabethtown, was arrested after he fired shots at a moving vehicle on Dunham Street around 7:00 p.m.
Authorities said a handgun was found a few feet away from Bennett when he was apprehended. According to police, the gun had been reported stolen from the Clarkton area.

Police say there were two people inside the target vehicle. No one was injured in the vehicle shooting, but the back window was shot out.
According to officials, one of the people inside the vehicle was also leaving Bo's Food Store when shots were fired there earlier this month.
Someone fired shots Feb. 9 at the victim as they were leaving the store. The victim ran back inside and the shooter followed, still firing shots. Authorities said the shooter ran away once the victim was safely inside the store.
