WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) – The cooler temperatures continue in to the weekend as west and north westerly winds continue to pump in slightly cooler air under a sky mixed with sun and clouds. Normally we see temperatures into the mid 60s for highs, however over the next few days temperatures will run several degrees below normal. Not frigid mind you, but highs on Friday, Saturday and Sunday will dive into the low 50s. Low temperatures will also run cooler than normal.
An upper level impulse tapping moisture here in coastal North Carolina will bring a chance for showers on Saturday (30%). As the evening wears on- the shower chance will, with temperatures moving into the lower 30s, be turning into a chance for flurries. Accumulating snowfall is not likely -but some airborne flakes mixed in with the light shower activity is possible.
Sunday will remain chilly before some warming moves in ahead of the next rain maker on Wednesday of next week.
