NEW HANOVER COUNTY, NC (WECT) - None of the organizations applying to take over the Head Start program have been accepted, according to New Hanover County Schools.
A spokesperson for the school system said Wednesday that the superintendent received word that NHCS was not approved, nor was any other organization.
The school system applied for the position after the previous agency was denied federal funding.
