WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) – A man accused for robbing a person inside a McDonald's in Wilmington earlier this month was arrested Monday night in Surf City with the assistance of the US Marshals Task Force.

Raheem Jamil Washington, 28, was arrested and charged for robbery with a dangerous weapon, assault by pointing a gun, and second degree kidnapping.

Police believe Washington was responsible for an armed robbery inside the McDonald's off Shipyard Blvd. and South College Road Feb. 17. Authorities said a person was robbed inside the restaurant, and the business itself was not robbed.

Officers said the robbery was random and the victim did not know the suspect.

This robbery happened less than two weeks after Washington had been released from prison.

According to state prison records, Washington served time for an armed robbery in Charlotte from October 2005 until February 2013.
