WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) – Clouds increase throughout the day Monday with some small rain chances moving in after dark. Look for highs to be a bit cooler with the added cloud cover, highs in the mid 50s.
It's Tuesday that we will have to keep a careful eye on the radar as another upper level low tracks across the south. This will bring warmer, moist air into the region ahead of a cold front expected to pass Tuesday evening. Before it does showers are a shoe in, and stronger thunderstorms may develop during Tuesday afternoon and evening. With stronger winds aloft the severe weather chances will also remain in play. Any thunderstorms that develop will have a chance to tap those winds and draw them to the surface.
Wednesday will be sunny and warm with highs in the low 60s. Thursday through the weekend the temperatures are slated to progressively drop back into the low 50s for the highs, 30s for the lows.
