WEATHER: A wet, dreary Saturday; clearing out by Sunday

WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) – A boundary, currently situated across the Carolinas, is bringing some pretty unsettled weather to the southeast today.  Although it's going to be a pretty soggy Saturday, things will clear out and warm up for Sunday.

Expect the rain to persist throughout the day Saturday. Moderate to heavy rainfall will occur this morning with mainly scattered showers expected this evening and tonight. Temperatures will climb into the upper 50s; however, inland areas are only expected to make into the lower 50s.

Tonight, rain will start to taper off, but we could see another round of showers early Sunday before it is all said and done. Low temperatures will fall into the mid 40s by early Sunday. Patchy fog is also expected.

The boundary will move offshore early Sunday as high pressure builds in. Expect mostly sunny skies with highs climbing into the mid 60s. A very small chance of rain is expected early Sunday morning as this system moves offshore, otherwise a great ending to the weekend.
