Commissioner Jimmy Tate said earlier this month he wants the Board of Commissioners to play a larger role in the shelter's future.PENDER COUNTY, NC (WECT) – Commissioners in Pender County adopted a resolution during their meeting Tuesday to put policies and procedures into place for the Animal Shelter.
There will be a one-time adoption fee from the shelter. The fee used to be waived, but that is no longer the case.
Commissioner Jimmy Tate said earlier this month he wants the Board of Commissioners to play a larger role in the shelter's future.
Tate said he's heard complaints from shelter volunteers and wants to push commissioners to investigate those issues.
