Hammerheads Touring Turkey Prior to USL Pro Season

The Wilmington Hammerheads are opening the 2013 preseason far from the artificial turf of Legion Stadium.

Through Pro Soccer Consulting Ltd (PSC) the Hammerheads are touring Turkey to prepare for the upcoming USL Pro season.

David Irving's team will spend 10 days in Antalya where they will face teams from the Chinese Second Division (Feb. 22), Ukrainian squad Olympik Donetsk (Feb 23). The preseason meetings will wrap up on the 28th against FK Akzhaiyk of the Kazakhstan Premier League.

"I'm looking forward to the great chance for me to look at potential players that we can bring back for the 2013 season," said head coach David Irving. "This is terrific branding for the Hammerheads and PSC."

The 10-day training camp will allow Irving's squad to line up against other top European and Asian outfits while giving him the opportunity to view potential signings for the 2013 season.
