LELAND, NC (WECT) - Drivers traveling south of Leland in Brunswick County may notice a new traffic pattern.
According to North Carolina DOT, US 17 North just south of Leland will shift to newly constructed lanes on Thursday, Feb. 21, and the existing northbound lanes of the highway will become a two- lane service road.
During this time, the service road will be closed between Hewitt-Burton Road and Bridle Way so crews install pipes under the existing road.
Residents of Stoney Creek and Snee Farms subdivisions will be able to access US 17 by traveling south on the new service road to the crossover at Zion Church road.
Drivers are asked to use caution in the area because of the new changes.
